I completed the installation of both the Expeditioner and the Navigator maps to my PC and my Garmin Zumo. Excellent!

I spent time with both maps and google earth zoomed in to get a feeling for how the map trails match up with the photos. There are far more roads and trails on the ground than the map, because people like shortcuts! I know that when I am faced with a fork in the road making the call will always be a challenge. The maps will let me see very quickly if I am going the wrong way. I can see that rather than plotting a few waypoints, I will quickly need to rely on the log and routes to get me back home the way I came!

There is a lot of detail in the smaller Navigator map, and very clear visibility on my screen. in most offroad situations, this map is far more useful than the Expeditioner topo map. In populated areas, the Expeditioner topo map has greater street detail.

The ability to switch back and forth is exactly what I needed!!!

Do you know of any tutorials on how to make use of my GPS and these maps? I am not yet proficient in handling trip logs, making routes, using a route to backtrack the way we came, etc.

I've been travelling Baja for 20+ years in 4x4 or on my Honda XR dirt bike. I enjoy adventure riding and exploring new locations. I got my Garmin just over a year ago. For years, I've used the AAA map of Baja with good success. All of the towns and ranchos are on the mark. But not all of the dirt roads are included. I do recommend using it to verify your Baja map for the towns and key location. I still use it a my primary paper map. But using my Garmin and your LBMaps Baja map, I now have a completely new dimension to navigating in Baja. I really can do some serious adventure riding with your map and not worry where I'm at and where to go.

I took a Baja trip this weekend to scout out the various trails/routes for a coming up off road dualsport motorcycle trip that I will be leading in two weeks. I was sporting my new LBMaps Baja map in my Garmin and just could not believe how much off road detail was being desplayed on the screen. HOLLY COW! You blew me away. Thanks for the great work and please keep me posted if you have updates or include additional trails/dirt roads. Living in San Diego,CA. I do ride Baja a fare amount and will most likely find trails or dirt roads not on your map. But I can't have everything, Again outstanding detail and great to use while riding Baja.

I just recently used your Baja Map on a two week excursion almost completely
on the back roads of Baja. I was very pleased and it proved invaluable in
many aspects. I think when you have a chance, you should look into adding
the trail to Malarrimo Beach in Baja Sur, its a more of a jeep trail, but a
definite off-road adventure to a beach with a lot of stories, etc. Thanks
again for the very helpful product.

Dear Larry,

Got the map in plnty of time for the trip. Thanks
again for expediting the shipment. Overall, it is a very
good product and I would recommend my friends who
explore Baja to buy the map. I do have a few comments
on the Baja Expedition map:

1. Over all, it is very nice. Especially the contours.

2. In the cities where the the streets are shown, it
shows almost all the street names, which is more than
what I had expected based on the sample I downloaded.

3. Almost none of the dirt roads, even the major ones
which are practically "highways", are shown. It is a
big drawback because many smaller communities and
interesting points are accessible only by dirt roads.

4. The streets of Tecate are not shown in detail. I
know Tecate well enough to not need a map, but it is
becoming a gateway to La Rumorosa and points east and
south and so it would be nice to include that. (Does
the Navigator have Tecate street maps? I would like to
get details around that area.)

Hi Larry,

Just wanted to let you know that we got excellent use out of your Baja map during our four day driving round-trip from San Diego to Santa Rosalia over the Thanksgiving weekend. In one of numerous examples of how your map came in handy, we took an uncharted dirt road west from Mex 1 just noth of Catavina just to see the desert terrain close up. After about 20 or 30 minutes of heading west on that back road, my son, who was serving as navigator, noticed from the GPS unit that we were heading toward another more significant dirt road. So we kept forging ahead, found that road (I'm pretty sure it's the road to La Bocana) and took that east to get back to Mex 1.

We had a great time, and can't wait to go back.

Hi Larry,

Got it, check out my blog, I posted a map of a couple rides I did over the last week. The maps are working as hoped. I use Navigator when riding because it is easy to read and exeditioner when I need topo detail to find my way through the canyons here.
